SHOOBIE

Origins
Another release from our Brewer’s Select series, Shoobie. The term "shoobie" originated in the late 1800s, and it derived from daytrippers taking the train to the NJ shore, with their ticket price including a boxed lunch packed in a shoe box. The term gained notoriety amongst the shore residents because local businesses were deprived of the revenue they would have spent on food.
Shoobie is a fruit beer that combines the sweet tropical flavor of pineapple with the spicy kick of habanero peppers. The aroma is dominated by the sweet and tangy pineapple scent. Upon tasting, the pineapple flavor is immediately apparent, with a slight sweetness that is balanced by the heat of the habanero pepper.
Food Pairings
Foods that complement the fruity and spicy notes of the beer include:
Tacos (all varieties)
Spicy grilled chicken or fish
Fruit salad
Cheeses such as brie or camembert.
Spicy wings
Overall, Shoobie can be a great match for spicy or tropical dishes, as well as foods that have a sweet or mild flavor profile.
